No Means No
No Means No
“There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.”
Romans 8:1
Last week as we started in Romans 8 here at Faith in our Sunday morning service we were only able to get through this verse. So as we are about to go the the Lord’s House on the Lord’s Day I want to remind you that no means no. God’s Word told us that there is no condemnation if we are God’s child! That is exciting! Now we did cover the stipulations of to no condemnation. One, we must be IN Christ and two we must follow Christ in obedience in our lives. So, no only means no if that is what you believe. No cannot mean no when we say yes to sin in our lives. No cannot mean no when we are not actively dying to self & sin as we allow God’s Word and God’s Spirit to bring us to new life in Christ.
So as you come to God’s House today, what is it that you have said yes to when you should have said no? What is it that you have chosen over the joy and weightlessness of NO condemnation? What is it that will keep you from being a part of the service today? What is it that is robbing you of the abundant life God has promised to you? May I remind you that carrying all that is optional and that when satan, self, or society would make you feel that it is not, just tell them “no, I will not carry that today!”; and when they persist, just tell them “no means no”!
