No Shame Here
No Shame Here
“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.”
Romans 1:16
Are you afraid to tell people who Jesus is to you? Could we address that right now? Paul Proudly Proclaims in Romans 1:16 “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.” Do you know what the Gospel of Christ is? It is the fact that God, our Creator, loving us so much left His majestic throne in Heaven to put on the flesh of sinful man and live in that flesh without giving into it and allowing sin to have victory. He took that sinless flesh and gave His life for us on the cross of Calvary. He laid 3 days in that tomb until He got up in His own power and made sin and death powerless over Him and all that choose to live IN this Gospel of Christ! The gospel is Powerful! Complete! Perfect! Victorious!
The gospel saves us from sin’s penalty and sin’s power through the works of Jesus Christ! So, why do we fail to share the gospel? Did you know that being ashamed of the gospel is not about whether we share it or not...that’s not the context of the verse! Being ashamed means that we don’t believe it is actually powerful enough to give us victory so we don’t really walk in, live in, rest in this glorious gospel. We don’t die to all we are and allow all Christ is to shine through us for others to see.
Being unashamed of the gospel means that we live in that gospel so fiercely in our lives that we cannot help but to share it...It just pours out of all we do...it is too powerful to do anything else. Let that simmer for a bit!
