Changing Your Mind
Change Your Mind
“Now the LORD had prepared a great fish to swallow up Jonah. And Jonah was in the belly of the fish three days and three nights.”
Jonah 1:17
Have you ever disobeyed God? I know, it’s a silly question...let me fix it...Have you disobeyed God yet today?
The Bible tells us a a story of Jonah and in Jonah 1:17 we see this, “Now the LORD had prepared a great fish to swallow up Jonah. And Jonah was in the belly of the fish three days and three nights.”
Jonah, a child and servant of God disobeyed God and God decided to change Jonah’s mind. He didn’t force Jonah to obey but He did allow Jonah’s choice to take him to a place that he didn’t even want to live anymore...so he committed suicide, well, he tried to...but God had prepared a great fish for Jonah to sit and think for a few days about his life choices.
So, let me ask you, and I’m sorry but this has just been on my heart, why don’t you go to church like your life depended on it? God has commanded us to be faithful to the body of Christ in Hebrews 10:25. So if we are not faithful to the body of Christ, or our church, isn’t that disobedience?
So, what will God prepare for you in order to get you to change your mind? How long will it take for you to change your mind? Don’t think for one minute that God is just going to let you keep running from Him! He loves you too much! He paid too high a price to just let you throw your life away...and know this, the moment you resign to give up, like Jonah, God has prepared something to try to change your mind. Let that simmer for a bit.
