How To Walk
How to Walk
“If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying one another.”
Galatians 5:25-26
Um...excuse me...do you even know how to walk? I mean seriously why do we keep falling? Like a baby learning to take steps and thankful for the diaper that cushions the falls, but is probably full of, well, diaper stuff.
The Bible tells us how to walk! Did you know that? It really does. Now, let me quickly define walking...it is taking repeated steps one after another. It seems like it should be easy, right...oh, I’m not talking about the physicality of walking, I am speaking about the spirituality of walking. The Bible tells us how to walk. How to keep taking repeated steps one after another and to do it without falling. It says “if we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit”
Now you might be like...well that didn’t really tell me how to walk...but it did! IN THE SPIRIT! It goes on in that same passage in Galatians 5 and says, “do not desiring vain glory that causes us to provoke some and envy others”...in other words, walk like Jesus did. Jesus didn’t worry about who was walking better than Him nor did He get jelly if someone looked more like Him than He did...not like that really could happen though, lol.
In other words, if you want to walk more like Jesus, look to and walk with Jesus...you’re looking at those not walking like you or walking more like Jesus than you, you better hope your diaper’s full...let that simmer for a bit.
