See Little Jesus
See Little Jesus
“But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man.” - Hebrews 2:9
First, we have to settle something...Jesus IS God...not like unto God, not similar to God, not a representative of God...Jesus IS God in the flesh. If you can’t agree with that...just find another way to spend the next couple minutes.
With that settled, let’s look at what Jesus did. The Bible tells us that He made himself to have no reputation, but put on flesh like us, and came to serve. This is the Creator God we’re talking about! He made Himself to be like us in every fashion. When Jesus stubbed His toe...if He ever did, it hurt. When his family turned their back on Him, it hurt. When folks talked bad about Him, it hurt. When they whipped Him, tore the beard from His face, even when they drove those spikes through His hands and feet...it hurt. He felt pain, both emotional and physical. Hebrews tells us, “But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man.” That means Jesus went through all that pain for you and me...He made Himself little before God for man, so I could live large for God before man. So, here we are, living large, trying to tell you, you need to see the little Jesus. That He made Himself little for you. Did you know He still feels pain? He still hurts. Every time someone rejects Him, He feels that deeply. He made Himself little, but when we turn our back on Him, He feels it big time. Let that simmer for a bit.
