The Loving Law
The Loving Law
“Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such a one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted. Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ.”
Galatians 6:1-2
Have you ever had such a heavy heart that you feel that you almost cannot bear the weight of it? You weren’t intended to! Our loving Creator God/Heavenly Father does not want us to “go it alone”. Our Savior said this, “come unto me all of you that work hard yet are carrying such a great weight, I will give you rest! Partner with me and let me pull the heavy load!” (I larry-phrased that) What a decree for our Deities to make for us!
Here is the thing though...They’re both in heaven, so how does this work? Enter the law given by Christ to us, love God with all we are and love our neighbor as ourselves. These aren’t just words we say, no these are the laws we live in our loving obedience to God Almighty! If I am loving God with all that I am then I HAVE to love you, all of you, as if you were me. Now, let us talk about how that is done!
I am not perfect and neither are you, but Christ loves us any way right? Let’s get back to that heavy burden we’ve been trying to carry...many times when we are carrying around a big burden it is because we have not laid it at the foot of the cross in faith that God will take care of it. Many times that heaviness is un-repented sin in our lives. What we need is someone the Bible calls “meek”. Someone who knows how to carry a heavy burden of sin and lay it at Jesus’ forgiving feet. The bible tells us that anyone who is walking with Christ and you see that in their lives, well they have a responsibility to help those who have become too heavy burdened with sin in their lives. Usually if you’re a “christian” and we see someone with “too much sin” in their lives, we want to act like we don’t see it, and if we do we want to “separate” ourselves from them...you know like Jesus did...OH, wait, that is not what Jesus did!
God wants those who He has given victory over some sin in their lives to help show others how to have that same victory! He tells us in Galatians 6:2 “Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ.” We aren’t to turn our back to one another unless it is to pick up the load you’re carrying and help you take it to Jesus! That’s the Loving Law! Guess what...all you who like to keep just how rotten you used to be under wraps...you’re not always allowed to do that! The one you see that is carrying that heavy load, have to trust you to know how to carry it to the Cross...that means you may have to let someone see just how imperfect you are but how Christ like the Holy Spirit has make you...let that simmer for a bit.
