God’s Work of Art
“For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.”
Ephesians 2:10
While all mankind are created image bearers of Christ, not all are His Workmanship. Because of Adam’s choice to disobey the Word of God there is a disconnect between Creator and Creation. Since sin entered into the world the creation strives to be it’s own designer. It was after all the promise of Satan that if we the creation would go against the Word of the Creator, that we would take on His characteristics. Isn’t it funny that Satan promised what we already possessed in the Creator? But in actuality in man’s choice to be our own god separated us from the One who made us to be like Him. Enter Christ! The Bridge that reconnects the creation to the Creator. Through Christ’s restorative power we now can be back in the Hands of the Master! We can allow Him to work in our lives as He removes what will hurt His masterpiece and adds what is needed, all that He might create an extraordinary work of art.
Think about this...God ordained this all to be so. Don’t for one minute think that God had no idea when He placed the tree of the knowledge of good and evil in the midst of His perfect Garden that the man he formed out of the dust He spoke into existence wouldn’t choose to be his own god...God knew, just as He knew that one day God in the Flesh would come to His creation and restore this once great work of art to it’s original state! God knows what He is doing. He is the Creator. He is the Great Designer. He is the Master Craftsman. Don’t believe for one minute that what He is taking from your life or bringing into it is an accident or coincidence. Don’t believe that lie of Satan that God is trying to keep you from being all that He has ordained (that means already planned out) to be. Just strive to obey His Word as His Spirit uses it to make a masterpiece out of your life. Don’t be anything less than God’s Great Work of Art!
