For You Consideration
“For consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds.”
Hebrews 12:3
How many of you that seriously try to walk with the Lord are hoping to hear the trumpet today as the Holy Spirit cries out, “Quittin’ Time”? Is it just me? I used to spend a lot of time on a treadmill. Treadmills are a nice way to get some exercise and all but they really don’t get you anywhere but tired. Often times that is how I feel about my walk with the Lord. Like I am on some spiritual treadmill where I am putting the effort in but there is no destination...no goal being achieved, except me getting weary. This is about the time my flesh or the enemy decides to try to convince me that I am just wasting my time and getting nowhere with Jesus. These are just lies though. This is when I have to remember that while there is effort on my part to serve the Lord, the destination has already been decided. Yes I get tired but my strength comes from knowing that He has not left me and He is going to continue to work and more often than not I won’t see what He is doing through my meager efforts to glorify Him. This is when I must consider the fact that Jesus Christ fed thousands yet pastored at most 120 souls. He healed the masses yet they rejected and even crucified Him. If He could make it through all of that and remain victorious, maybe, just maybe I can take one more step for Him. How about you?
