It's Not Over Yet
It’s Not Over Yet
“For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day. For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory; while we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.”
2 Corinthians 4:16-18
As each day passes I understand this more and more. I am not an old man but I am not a young man. The strength I had physically some years ago I do not possess to day. The resolve to follow Christ I had some years ago pails in comparison today. My flesh is failing me more each day yet I have more desire to see God glorified in me than ever before. His Spirit and His Word do that! Yes my flesh brings suffering as well as a battle with sin that never goes away but they are nothing compared to what God is doing in my life as I yield to His Word and Will. To be honest, I have not seen with my eyes the success that I would like to in the ministries God has put me it...that’s how Larry sees it...but there are things that I cannot see that God does see that are bringing glory to Him. I do not know much about what eternity holds, what I do know is like looking through a darkened window. I have a small glimpse but will never have a clear view in this life. Heaven is a sweet promise from my Heavenly Father, but that is not the eternal that I must focus on. Life is always going to be life and not where my focus should be, for it is carnal...temporal. My focus MUST be on Christ, the Eternal One...who I cannot see physically, yet His visage becomes more clear each day I look to Him. Life goes on for today and it goes on with me knowing that if I am here, He is the reason. Someone else needs to see Jesus! So, I suffer what I suffer, I am not to look at what I perceive as successes, and I am to go on trying to get a better view of Jesus, because it’s not over yet.
